Biography Blanca Poly
Ugarte Guzmán, was born February 9th in 1959 at Puerto Bolivar,
El Oro Providence, a southern port of Ecuador. Poly actually lives 5 years
in the city of Guayaquil in Ecuador. She is the oldest of six children
from the marriage of Dr. Boanerges Ugarte Valarezo and Mrs. Blanca Guzman
Nunez, her brothers and sisters are: Lorena, Tatiana, Boanerges, Jose
Luis and Blanquita. Her elementary and high school studies were done at
"La Asuncion" school. Graduated as a lawyer from the republic
of Ecuador at the University " Catolica de Santiago de Guayquil",
being an outstanding student and being awarded honors at the university. Since she graduated she has dedicated her activities in business administration, specially in the shrimp business, due to that her father was one of the founders of the industry of the shrimp buisness in the country. In 1994 she was councilor of Guayaquil in the administration of the Ing, Leon Febre Cordero( mayor) and member of the commissions: Urbanism, public work and street neatness. In the development of her position, she was part of the committee of the cantonal that was approved the bay of " Malecon 2000' and the transformation of the city of Guayaquil, again converting this beautiful city in what is called "Perla Del Pacifico" ( Pacific Pearl). In 1998 she was member of the parliament for the providence of Guayas, working in the international commission and the housing commission
